Hide Column

Remove the column from the page entirely, either everywhere or only on chosen device sizes.

In plain English

Hide Column takes the column out of the page. Not faded, not moved off to one side — genuinely absent, taking up no space at all.

Its real value is per-device. A large decorative image that anchors a desktop hero can be dead weight on a phone, adding scrolling and download time for no benefit. Hide it on phones only and mobile visitors get a tighter page, while desktop visitors see the design as intended.

One thing to know before you use it: a hidden column stays visible while you are editing. If it disappeared from the canvas you would have no way to click it and change your mind. The setting takes effect in preview mode and on the published page.

When you would use it

  • A decorative image or illustration adds nothing on a phone.
  • A wide table or chart cannot work on small screens and a simpler block should stand in for it.
  • You want to take a section out of the published page temporarily without deleting your work.

How to change it

  1. Select the column, open "Selected Column", then "Hide Column".
  2. Leave "Same value for all resolutions" checked to hide it on every device.
  3. Uncheck it to choose per device: "Hide on Phone", "Hide on Tablet", "Hide on Desktop".
  4. Use preview mode to confirm — the column will still be visible in the editor.

Watch out for

  • The column remains visible while editing. This is deliberate, so that you can still select it.
  • Hiding something on phones and showing an alternative version instead means visitors download both. Use it sparingly on pages where speed matters.
  • A hidden column is removed for screen readers too, so never hide content that only some visitors need — hide only what is genuinely decorative.
