In plain English
Once a reader has expanded the text, the toggle shows this label so they can collapse it again. Leave it empty and readers see "Show less". Type your own wording when that phrase does not fit the tone of the page — "Hide", "Show less detail", and so on.
Use the same Class Names & Styles entry as Show More Label, so both phrases share one colour. With entry 1's Styles set to color: #D31789; text-decoration: underline, type {.1|Show less} here and {.1|Show more} on Show More Label. Only the toggle changes. The paragraph and the column's background stay as they are, because those settings are not what this marker points at.
The same one-line rules and markers as Show More Label apply: {b|…}, {i|…}, {s|…} and {.1|…} against Class Names & Styles; link markers print as plain words. It is per device.
When you would use it
- A custom "Show less" / "Hide" phrase that matches the expand label's voice.
- A branded or translated phrase for the collapse control.
- The same brand colour on the collapse label as on Show more, such as #D31789.
How to change it
- Click the text component on the canvas.
- In the Modify drawer, open "Selected Component", then "Class Names & Styles", and use the entry already created for Show More Label. Its Styles line is color: #D31789; text-decoration: underline.
- Open "Show Less Label" and type {.1|Show less}.
- To change the wording only, edit the words inside the braces. To change the colour, edit the shared Styles line — Show more follows it too.
- Clear the label to fall back to "Show less".
- Uncheck "Same value for all resolutions" to differ per device.
Watch out for
- This only appears when Show More After has a positive whole number and the text is long enough to truncate.
- Markers that point at a missing Class Names & Styles entry show as ordinary words, the same way they do in Content Text.
- Link markers never become links on this label, even if Links has matching entries.
- A styled label does not keep the automatic underline. Write text-decoration: underline in the shared Styles line, the same place as the colour.
- Do not set Text Color on the column to colour the toggle. That setting is inherited by the paragraph as well.
