In plain English
Once a reader has expanded the text, the toggle shows this label so they can collapse it again. Leave it empty and readers see "Show less". Type your own wording when that phrase does not fit the tone of the page — "Hide", "Show less detail", and so on.
The same one-line rules and markers as Show More Label apply: {b|…}, {i|…}, {s|…} and {.1|…} against Class Names & Styles; link markers print as plain words. It is per device.
When you would use it
- A custom "Show less" / "Hide" phrase that matches the expand label's voice.
- A branded or translated phrase for the collapse control.
- Different wording on phones than on desktop.
How to change it
- Click the text component on the canvas.
- In the Modify drawer, open "Selected Component", then "Show Less Label".
- Type the label, or clear it to fall back to "Show less".
- Uncheck "Same value for all resolutions" to differ per device.
One value, or one per device? Every input in this setting sits under a “Same value for all resolutions” checkbox. Leave it checked for a single value everywhere, or uncheck it to give phones, tablets, and desktops their own. How per-device values work.
Watch out for
- This only appears when Show More After has a positive whole number and the text is long enough to truncate.
- Markers that point at a missing Class Names & Styles entry show as ordinary words, the same way they do in Content Text.
- Link markers never become links on this label, even if Links has matching entries.
