In plain English
While the text is collapsed, the toggle shows this label. Leave it empty and readers see "Show more". Type your own wording when that phrase does not fit the tone of the page — "Read the rest", "View full bio", and so on.
The label is one line. Newlines and a {br|} marker collapse to spaces. It can use the same {b|…}, {i|…}, {s|…} and {.1|…} markers as Content Text, against this text's own Class Names & Styles list. A link marker prints its words as plain text — links are not offered here.
Like the character budget, it is per device, so a short label on phones and a longer one on desktop is allowed when that helps.
When you would use it
- The default "Show more" does not match the voice of the surrounding copy.
- A branded or translated phrase for the expand control.
- A label that should be bold or use a class from Class Names & Styles.
How to change it
- Click the text component on the canvas.
- In the Modify drawer, open "Selected Component", then "Show More Label".
- Type the label, or clear it to fall back to "Show more".
- Uncheck "Same value for all resolutions" to differ per device.
One value, or one per device? Every input in this setting sits under a “Same value for all resolutions” checkbox. Leave it checked for a single value everywhere, or uncheck it to give phones, tablets, and desktops their own. How per-device values work.
Watch out for
- This only appears when Show More After has a positive whole number and the text is long enough to truncate.
- Markers that point at a missing Class Names & Styles entry show as ordinary words, the same way they do in Content Text.
- Link markers never become links on this label, even if Links has matching entries.
